Silknet Speed Test
This page provides an accurate internet speed test for Silknet customers in Georgia. Whether you use Silknet Fiber (Silkoptima), DSL, or 4.5G wireless internet, verify your connection here.
Silknet is Georgia's largest telecommunications provider, offering high-speed fiber internet with speeds up to 100 Mbps and beyond to households across the country.
Interpreting Your Silknet Results
Download Speed:
- Fiber: You should receive close to your paid speed (e.g., 50 Mbps or 100 Mbps) on a wired
connection. Wi-Fi results will vary.
- DSL: Speeds are distance-dependent and typically range from 5-15 Mbps.
Upload Speed:
- Fiber: Silknet Fiber plans are usually symmetrical. If you have a 50 Mbps
plan, your upload should also be around 50 Mbps.
- DSL: Upload speeds are much lower, typically around 1 Mbps.
Ping (Latency):
- Fiber: 2-10ms (Local Georgia servers).
- DSL: 20-50ms.
Silknet Router Login (Huawei / ZTE)
Most Silknet fiber installations use Huawei or ZTE modems (ONTs). Access the admin panel to change your Wi-Fi password.

Common Troubleshooting
Red "LOS" Light: This stands for "Loss of Signal". It means the fiber cable coming into your
home is broken or there is a Silknet outage.
1. Check the thin yellow or white fiber cable for tight bends.
2. Ensure the connector is firmly pushed into the "PON" port.
3. Restart the router. If it persists, call support.
Slow Wi-Fi: If your speed test is slow on your phone but fast on your PC, your router's Wi-Fi signal might be weak. Try moving closer or using a 5 GHz connection.
Wired vs Wi-Fi Testing
To accurately test your Silknet line, you must connect a computer directly to the router using a yellow Ethernet cable. Wi-Fi tests are affected by walls and interference.
When to contact Silknet Support (2100200)
Call support if:
The "LOS" light is blinking red.
Your internet is down for more than 30 minutes.
You need to upgrade your speed plan.
Silknet Speed Test FAQs
What does a red 'LOS' light mean on my Silknet router? A red LOS light indicates that the optical signal is lost. This is a physical connection issue. Check your fiber patch cord often found entering the bottom or side of the router.
How do I login to my Silknet Huawei/ZTE router? Open a web browser and type
http://192.168.100.1. This is the standard IP for most fiber modems. The default
username/password is often printed on the label on the bottom of the device.
Are Silknet Fiber speeds symmetrical? Yes, Silknet's fiber plans typically offer symmetrical speeds, meaning your upload bandwidth is equal to your download bandwidth, which is excellent for video conferencing and sending large files.
What is the Silknet customer service number? You can reach Silknet customer support by dialing 2100200.
