Teleboy Speed Test

This page provides an accurate internet speed test for Teleboy customers in Switzerland. Whether you are on the ultra-fast 10 Gbit/s Fiber (XGS-PON) plan or a standard DSL connection, check your real-world performance here.

Teleboy utilizes the Swisscom network infrastructure but typically issues highly capable FRITZ!Box routers (like the 5530 Fiber or 7590 AX), giving users excellent control over their home network.

Interpreting Your Teleboy Results

Download Speed:
- 10 Gbit/s Fiber: Real-world speeds on a single device are often limited by your network card to ~2-8 Gbps. You need a 10GbE port to see the full potential.
- DSL/Copper: Highly variable (20-100 Mbps) based on distance to the street cabinet.

Upload Speed:
- Symmetric (Fiber): Teleboy Fiber offers equal upload/download speeds (e.g., 10/10 Gbps), ideal for heavy cloud backups.
- Asymmetric (DSL): Uploads are typically much slower (e.g., 20 Mbps upload on a 100 Mbps download plan).

Ping (Latency):
- Fiber: Extremely low, often < 3ms to Swiss servers.
- DSL: 10-25ms.

Teleboy Router Login (FRITZ!Box)

Teleboy almost exclusively provides AVM FRITZ!Box routers. You can access the interface to check fiber signal strength, change WiFi channels, or set up guest access.

Router Model Login Details
FRITZ!Box 5530 / 7590 / 7530 URL: fritz.box or 192.168.178.1
Pass: See the white sticker on the underside of the device.

Common Troubleshooting

Red "Info" Light: This often indicates an authentication error. You may need to re-enter your Teleboy username (e.g., [email protected]) and password in the FRITZ!Box interface under Internet > Access Data.

Blinking "Fiber" or "Power/DSL" Light: The router is trying to synchronize with the network. If this persists for >5 minutes, check your fiber Optic or DSL cable connection.

Wired vs Wi-Fi Testing

Wi-Fi 6 (AX) can reach speeds of 600-900 Mbps, but this is nowhere near the 10,000 Mbps capacity of a Teleboy Fiber line. To test your connection speed properly, use a Cat6a cable and a PC with a 2.5G or 10G Ethernet port.

When to contact Teleboy Support (0848 444 888)

Call Teleboy support if:

Your FRITZ!Box shows a persistent blinking connection light.

You need your PPPoE/Access Data credentials reset.

You want to upgrade from DSL to Fiber.

Teleboy Speed Test FAQs

Why is the red Info light on my Teleboy FRITZ!Box? This is usually an indication that the router cannot log in to the Teleboy server. Go to http://fritz.box, log in, and check the "Event Log" under System. You likely need to re-enter your internet access credentials.

How do I login to my Teleboy router? Teleboy uses the standard FRITZ!Os interface. Navigate to http://fritz.box in your browser. The password is unique and printed on the bottom of your router.

Does Teleboy offer 10 Gbit/s speed? Yes, "Teleboy Home" offers speeds up to 10 Gbit/s upload and download on the XGS-PON fiber network. Note that most consumer devices cannot yet utilize this full speed.

What is the Teleboy support number? The support line is **0848 444 888**, available Monday through Friday during business hours.
